Nicole Ari Parker has worked in film, TV, and on stages. Her most well-known role was for her role as Teri (the spirited attorney) Joseph. Following her wedding, she was Nikki Kodjoe. She was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland she showed an interest in acting from the age of five and was awarded a Best Actress prize at a Maryland high school competition. After working in theater as well as 'The Washington Ballet Company' she graduated with a diploma in acting at 'New York University. Contractor who was born in Mumbai and who was a resident of Nigeria since she was just seven years old. Then, she and her family relocated to Toronto (Canada) which is where they lived for the rest of her childhood. When she was in Toronto, Contractor excelled in academics and trained as a classical ballerina. At the Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public school for high schools that is specialized in arts) the student studied ballet and theater. When she was 16, after nearly 10 years of dancing Contractor realized she wanted to pursue acting seriously. When she graduated from high school, Contractor was awarded a scholarship by The University of Toronto to pursue the dual field of psychology and sociology. She also earned a master's degree in Theater. Contractor auditioned at the prestigious Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada, for Pericles. After an entire year, she was given the lead part. The play received rave reviews and her work during the 92 performances that this play, which was named as the best production by Canadian reviewers in 2002. Contractor accepted the offer to join Stratford's Conservatory. There are only eight males and four females accepted for a 20-week intensive course in classical theater. The actor's involvement in the upcoming season of plays was confirmed, and she got the part in Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
